Bodhi tree takes root at Vihara, now ready for venerations

                                       

                                                                                

We are very happy to announce that the Bodhi tree which is a powerful symbol within the Buddhist tradition is available at the Vihara for Pujas and veneration.

The Bodhi tree serves to remind us of the enlightenment of Prince Sidhartha, the historical Buddha. This year marks the 2600^th anniversary of the Buddha’s enlightenment.

The 5^th of May, a full moon day, will celebrate Wesak, which is not only the birthday of the Buddha, but also his enlightenment and passing away.

We will start the first Bodhi Puja (tomorrow on the 28^th April) to bestow upon Venerable Rewatha Thero, blessings on his birthday. Please contact the Vihara if you would like to arrange a Bodhi Puja for the benefit of yourself or your family.
